Are You An Awfulizer?

Good morning lovely you,

I’m feeling a little punchy today. It must be my new workout schedule. I’m trying my best to get into better shape for my hiking trip to Arizona in March. I’m a little sore this morning…yikes! No pain – No gain. Hmmm…not sure I like that statement!

My tea is steaming and I’m ready to write.

Ready…Let’s go.

Are you an awfulizer?

Do you let your mind ramp up fearfulness and negativity and have that nagging feeling that something awful is going to happen? We all do, you are not alone so don’t start beating yourself up right now! Let’s see what we can do about it.

Our minds can ruin our lives or be our greatest asset.

What is your mind saying right now?

Is it behaving?

What do you do when you get a cold or the flu? Do you take care of yourself? Do you get to bed earlier and rest up? Do you drink plenty of fluids and take extra vitamin C? Perhaps you head to your doctor for a check-up.

What do you do when your mind isn’t well?

How do we know when our mind isn’t well? When it is chattering away and going nuts telling you negative things about yourself. That’s when!

You know what I mean. It starts telling you…” You are not good enough.” “You look awful.” “You are not thin enough.” “You are not strong enough.” “I’m not able to do that.” It compares you to others. “I will never be able to do what she/he does.” ” What if I fail?” “What if my cancer comes back?”

Yep, I’ve lost count how many times I’ve heard these negative thoughts in my head, and the sad part is, I never realized that it was my mind misbehaving and I had the power to take control of it whenever I wished. That’s better than discovering the mega dollar winning lottery ticket in your coat pocket!

This life journey is quite something. Isn’t it? We are always searching for ways to improve our lives and trying to find our true self and learning how to take charge of our health. It’s right there in front of you. It’s all in our minds!

On my journey, I’ve got to know without a shadow of a doubt that my mind is a glorious thing and it can also be a dark, harmful, dangerous thing. It is my choice!

The mind can bully you into thinking all sorts of things. It will judge you and others. Your mind can convince you of anything you want to believe. It’s the greatest salesperson ever!

Set yourself free once and for all. Okay, Mr. Mrs. and Ms. Awfulizer!

When the awful thoughts come to mind, please know that they are just crazy thoughts (your mind misbehaving) and not the real true beautiful you.

I find myself saying sometimes, “Where on earth did that come from.” Hey, maybe it didn’t come from earth!! Sometimes I frown and scowl, and sometimes I smile and laugh at myself.

Say to yourself..I am good enough? I am attractive enough? Woot! I am smart? I’m kind and generous. I am loving. I am worthy. I am beautiful just the way I am.

You are beautiful and so is your mind. Always remember that.

Let that friggin’ bully out of your head.

Send that crazy bully in your head to detention forever. Better still banish it into oblivion.

Replace all your negative thoughts immediately with beautiful thoughts. Keep doing this over and over and over again and you will mend your mind you gorgeous thing you! I just know it.

Have a beautiful day.

Love you,

Prue.

Prue’s quote of the day: “Don’t let default mode in your head be negative. You are far more powerful than that. Switch it to positive right now and whenever you wish.”

  1. Wow. I didn’t realize how negative my thoughts were until I read this. What do you do when you just don’t FEEL like being nice to yourself or anyone else? Sometimes I just want to be left alone to sort through the negativity and figure out where it is coming from.
