Natural Healing And The Mayo Clinic
On my travels recently, I came across the Mayo Clinic’s new magazine titled, “Natural Healing.”
Is it a WOW? Is it a concern? Is it about time?
Have we the people spoken and demanded change, or are fewer people choosing chemo and they see dollar signs in natural healing?
Can’t beat em then join em?
The Medical editor from the magazine wrote this…” treatments that were once considered ‘on the fringe’ are slowly being integrated into conventional medicine.” The key word to focus on here is ‘integrated,'” he said!!
The Mayo Clinic also touted… “Although the term integrative medicine may be new to you, it’s a term that’s been in the works for many years now – a concept that was known as alternative medicine back in 2007 when we first published Clinic book of Alternative Medicine. ”
To think that I was 25 years young three decades ago, in the 80’s making decisions about how to save my life. I stood up to my Oncologist and 3 other medical opinions and said NO to chemo and more conventional medicine. I decided to take a risk and chose “alternative medicine” on the other side of the world. That was over 30 years ago. Three years later when my alternative doctors told me I was in remission, I started complementary and alternative (CAM) medical conferences in California, Australia, and New Zealand. I became a crusader and wanted to share my secret with the world. So, Mayo Clinic, you are a few decades late.
The Australian media called me a “woo-woo nutter.” One reporter who interviewed me said I was offering false hope and a very dangerous person. Police turned up at my house and escorted me to the customs department to send back my natural cancer therapies to Germany.
We’ve come a long way since then and I’m over moon to see what we have accomplished. We are not there yet but moving in the right direction.
Of course, The Mayo Clinic is claiming they are the first authoritative voice on Natural Healing!! I will breathe and let that one go Love Warriors! In the big picture of things whatever wakes people up to start learning how to heal their mind, body and soul is fine with me.
I’m not sure what research the Mayo Clinic has done. There are no research studies referenced in the magazine. They say “numerous well-designed studies have shown.” “A few formal studies on aromatherapy.” “Conflicting research on black cohosh.” Not enough reliable evidence to determine…Who did the studies? How many people in the studies? Were they double blind studies? Perhaps they did they do their own studies to collect data to create their own label?
Do you think big pharma will eventually take over the supplement and natural medicine industry? Will we need a prescription for our supplements and natural therapies!?!
What do you think will happen to the future of Natural Healing? Let’s start a conversation. I would LOVE to hear what you think below.
