Do You Believe?
I often get asked what was it that I feel made the biggest difference in my health over 30 years ago. What was the ONE thing I did that really cured my cancer? Was it the anti-inflammatory diet? Was it juicing? Live Cell Therapy? Meditation?
No. Those were all wonderful tools but what was the energy that powered all of these tools?
It was BELIEF. I truly, in every cell of my body, believed that healing was possible. I believed I would survive the cancer and live many more decades.
I absolutely believed this on a very deep level. And not 30%. Not 50%. Not 92%. I believed it 1000000%.
There is a story in the bible of a woman who is very sick, and she has heard that Jesus will be coming to speak. She fights through the throngs of people and crawls through their legs to get close to Jesus because she believes in his healing ability so much, that she knows if she just touches his robe, just the hem of his robe, she will be healed. And this is what came to pass.
Did Jesus heal her? No. He didn’t even know she was there. She healed herself. Her belief is what healed her.
We see this all the time with the placebo effect. People are given a sugar pill and told it is a powerful new drug that has been shown in lab tests to cure cancer in 87% of people, and the doctor tells the person, “I think this pill can absolutely work for you.” And the person’s cancer goes away. Did the sugar pill cure the cancer? Of course not! The person’s belief in the pill cured their cancer.
You Must Actively CHOOSE to Heal
Dr. Joe Dispenza is someone I like very much and whose work aligns with my own personal experience healing from cancer 30 years ago. He often talks of people having profound healings and the fact that these people all had one thing in common: their healing began AS SOON AS they made up their mind to heal. AS SOON AS they BELIEVED healing was possible, and not just for other people, but for themselves as well, that’s when healing began.
For our physical body to change, our mind must change first. It works in that order, not the other way around. When we have mental CONVICTION that WE ARE GOING TO HEAL, our body can then begin to heal itself.
Dr. Joe talks about “remembering your future.” This means you think and feel your future into reality. You think and feel yourself as a whole, vibrantly healthy individual. You must really see, feel, touch, taste and smell this future. Use your imagination and make it as vivid as possible.
For example, I used to always FULLY imagine myself helping others beat cancer. That was the future I imagined for myself, and here I am living it. Now if you don’t know my full story, I was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and given only 6 months to live. All “was lost and seemed hopeless.” I was supposed to die.
But here I am, 30 years later, with vibrant health. I have had my own clinic where I helped people cure their cancer and other chronic disease, and today, I use a digital platform to share what I have learned over the years to help as many people as I can.
I share my story so others may BELIEVE in their own creative power to heal and change their life. 35 years ago, I didn’t know I had this power. Not at first. I was just a scared young woman facing her own mortality. When doctors in white lab coats tell you you’re going to die, you tend to believe them.
But even though most of me believed the doctors, there was a quiet – but insistent – voice within me that said, “No, this does not have to be your story. You can choose another ending.”
And so I began to research and look for answers. And boy did I find them!
I learned from people like my dear friend Dr. Bernie Siegel about the mind-body connection. His audiobook “Love, Medicine and Miracles” was a powerhouse book that helped me realize I needed to forgive myself and my Dad for dying and change my mind to heal my body.
When I went to my first Barnes and Nobel bookstore in San Diego (remember, this was YEARS ago), I walked into the self-help section, and a lady in front of me accidentally knocked a book off the shelf. It fell right in front of me on the floor and the cover read “You Can Heal Your Life.”
I couldn’t believe my eyes. I sat on the floor and started reading. This would have been a few months after the book came out in 1985. Louise Hay’s book became my bible and I still have the original copy today.
These books opened my eyes to the power I had inside me. They helped me believe, truly and 100000% believe that I could save my own life.
I hope my own story can act as a catalyst in helping you understand your creative power on a deep and profound level. You can heal from cancer and any other disease or illness you may have. Dr. Joe was hit by a car and told he would never walk again. He “remembered his future” and imagined himself walking. He BELIEVED this change could occur. And it did.
You can heal your body and your life. Do you believe it?
