Hey, You Can Always Change Your Mind!

Hello lovely you,

Where on earth has the week gone? I can’t believe it is Thursday already.

Little Zuzu is fed and sleeping right beside me on the chair. My tea is steaming so off we go. I’m ready to write.

Yesterday we talked about directness, and I shared a wonderful story about meeting Heather serendipitously who has cancer (melanoma) and is a Prue’s Place Daily reader like you. If you didn’t read about this fantastic Aha moment you can find it here. I look forward to hearing your stories in the comment section. Come on over and share your true self with us. We would love that.

Yesterday’s Prue’s Place Daily was about being a direct person – standing up for yourself and speaking your truth so that you can attract more direct, open, honest people into your life. Let’s talk more about how being direct and taking charge of your life from your inner-power.

We give up our power way too quickly. Both men and women do this, but I still see far more women in the workplace doing this than their male counterparts.

Don’t give up your personal power to anyone. Not to your boss, friends, husband, children, doctors or any authority figure.

Some of these people may seem like they have more confidence than you and show more assertiveness or have an aggressive personality but that doesn’t mean they have it all together and it certainly doesn’t mean you must curtail to their way of thinking. Just because these people maybe more book smart than you doesn’t mean they are smarter than you!!

I’ve learned through the years that people with knowledge, expertise and have attained the highest qualifications do not necessarily have it all together. They may think so, but it isn’t always the case. It can be completely the opposite. Don’t compare yourself and put yourself down.

Don’t judge a book by its cover!

For a good chunk of my life, I was codependent and suffered from very low self-esteem. It held me back from my dreams because I never felt good enough. It took a death sentence – stage 4 cancer with six months to live to shake me the heck up. I had to learn how to love myself. It didn’t happen overnight. It took many years to work through the grief, sadness, and self-doubt.

We need to educate the younger generation in school on how to raise their self-esteem. Not in a way where they grow up to feel superior or entitled but pure love of self – self-worth. What a difference this world would be if everyone loved themselves more and became “Love Warriors.”

What about manipulative people?

One of the first things to be aware of is manipulative people. When someone tries to exploit you or convince you that what you are doing to heal your cancer is wrong or crazy what do you do? If someone discourages you from doing what you love to do what do you say to them? If you trust these people and need their opinion, then listen, if not, go for a walk and say beautiful things to yourself to clear their negative energy. “I love and approve of myself.” I love and approve of my decisions.” Go on my Walk & Talk and give gratitude for your life and your incredible strength and inner power.

Trust your inner-being.

Trust your gut reaction.

Trust your instincts and always do what feels right deep down inside.

Hey, you can always change your mind!

Your personal power is one of your most valuable assets. Recognize your power and be in gratitude everyday for the way it guides you and protects you. Guess what? You will feel more and more powerful energy when you acknowledge your personal power with gratitude.

Are you a people pleaser? I see you out there in the world, and I smile to myself because I realize that was me once upon a time.

The more you own your power, the more you will shine and the more you shine, the more happy and joyful you will be and the more people you will be able to help in this world. Not as a people pleaser but as your true authentic, loving self.

Prue’s quote of the day: “Let yourself be you. Let yourself feel what you need to feel and become aware of who is enhancing your power and who is draining it away.”

At Prue’s Place we are healing our lives one day at a time!
